Default Pattern report - New Mossberg 935

I patterned my new Mossberg 935 this morning up at PMSC. I got the Grand Slam Turkey model for my birthday last month. I mounted a Cabelas Pine Ridge 2.5-7 camo scope on it. Like a rookie, I split my eyebrow on the scope on the first shot.

No big surprises. Hevi shot 3.5" #4 patterned the best with a full pattern within a 24" circle at 40 yards. I was impressed. Definitely worth the $25 per box

I tried some Fiocchi 3.5" #4 shells, because of the low cost. They patterned horribly in my gun. At 20 yards, the pattern was huge.

I was really impressed with the Mossy 935. It is a heck of a lot of turkey gun for the money.

Have you had any experience with this Mossberg 500 series shotgun saddle mount?

I have a 500 that I have set up as a slug gun. My receiver was drilled and tapped, so I mounted the scope directly onto the gun. I did the same with the 935. If your 500 is older and is not drilled/tapped, I would recommend taking it to a gun smith and have him drill and tap the receiver. Mounting directly onto the gun is always a stronger solution than a saddle mount.
