Check out the Escort line by Hatsan. I bought one about two months ago for exactly what your describing. It's a really nice pump 12 guage for less than $200, perfect for what your looking for. Not sure about a three gun match though.
I got mine specifically for home defense, nothing more

When I was thinking about getting a shotty for home defense, I did a good bit of research and decided that the Remington 870 would be best for me. You may want to look into it. The 870 P-MAX is a nice setup with the tactical sights and dedicated flashlight forend already pre-packaged on the weapon.

no semi comes close to the Benelli. its fast, simple and works. its worth paying the extra $$. I say if your not getting Benelli, get a Remington 870.

Big Mossy guy here. I have 2 590's and 2 500's, don't need more.

I had one of the original 835's and had major issues with not being able to activate or deactivate safety. It was fixed twice and the third time I had it repaired and sold it. I handled the Remington desert recon with breacher barrel, Benelli M3 and M4, the 590 and the FNH. the 590 felt good, heavy bbl., next was the desert recon felt flimsy, FN scares me for parts in the current global environment. The Benelli fit well but felt really long. I can buy the 590A1 20" heavy barrel 9 shot with speed feed stock for 385 NIB plus tax.
Does Surefire make a forend with light for a 590? I am undecided as of yet but I did make a few custom house phone calls today. We'll see what that brings. Thanks, Brad

If one of your concerns is parts then I would have to say either the Remy 870 or a Mossy. I've had 2 Mossy 500s, one of the first with the old adjustable choke(wish I still had that one) and a newer model and I have an 870. I would not be concerned about either in an HD situation.

If you are looking for a semi the mossy 930spx (if you can find one) is a great deal at around $600.
![]() I have one. some other owners have not reported this issue but mine seems to need a 3dram or above to operate. no prob with high brass / buckshot but mine will not run light loads.

I have made my purchase and ordered all of the tricks to go with it. I bought a 2009 Remington 870 Tactical 18.5 bbl., Trynite finish, breacher choke , 7+1 capacity. I picked up the shotgun yesterday. I ordered a Tac star side saddle, Knoxx Ops recoil reduction stock and Surefire fore end. I also picked up a case quantity of assorted buckshot and slugs. My tricks should be here Wednesday. For someone that has the patience of Jobe, If you can walk me through how to post picks I would be willing to try. Thanks to those of you that replied.
