Default Lehigh Valley shops?

In the Valley there are quite a few shops, but since gas prices are so high these days. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me where I can find the best prices vs travel. For example, I live in Bethlehem and my nearest shop is C&D coin shop. My other choices are the Army & Navy store in Whitehall, The firing line, I think a place called Moyer's past 33. The shops that are further out, but I can get to are Eagle arms on 222, AF Boyer's and Keifer's.

I've done business with C&D (15 blocks), A/N (7 miles), and AF Boyer and have nothing but good experiences. Sometimes I can find a better price at A/N and other times C&D do right by me. Now, I have heard negative things from my first two places. Many have told me that AF Boyer can't be beat, but at 20 miles+ one way is it really worth the savings on a firearm vs fuel cost?

*On a side note I've also been to the Golden Trigger looking for a Henry Lever action .22. Owner was selling it for $240. While C&D had it for $229. and without a haggle, they knocked it down another $10. So $220.

Opinions will be well appreciated and considered.

Check out John's. The place is a bit of a mess but he is a real nice guy.

Isn't that the small shop over by 28th street? Way Past Dick's Sporting Goods?

Randy at The Handgunner in Topton is worth the trip and Boyer's Hardware in Slatington has a large selection.
Army Navy is getting lame, Golden Trigger prices are high. Gas prices are coming down, still cheaper than bottled water/gallon.

Army Navy is on the high side of prices, also hard to get help in there sometimes.

I'll second that positive opinion on John's. Great prices - most competitive I've seen in the LV. It is a small shop over by 25th street past Dick's Sporting Goods (I don't know about being near a 28th street or think that it is way past Dick's).

If you drive up by Scranton I was impressed by some prices at the Gander Mountain store up there.

I have been to all gun shops mentioned so far. A/N,Boyers,C&D,Johns and if you want selection, a clean atmosphere, knowledgeable owner. lots of ammo and accessories and again huge selection of handguns I prefer American Sport Shooting on Rt 115 in Broadheadsville. Not big on rifles. About 1/2 hour away from you.

The owner Rich is an ok guy. Prices displayed are ok not bargain basement but he has lots of fresh inventory and will come down a bit, especially if you make it known you have a cash purchase. Just my experience.

Worth a visit, even if to browse.

I am not a friend or related to the owner or any of his employees. Have been there about 6 times. Have bought 1 pistol from him.

I've bought a shotgun and an AR15 from Amer Sport Shooting which is 45min away from my place vs A/N 5min, can't get any help from A/N, get treated badly. I bought 2 pistols at The Firing Line, the price is higher though.

If your gonna do the ride to Amer Sport Shooting, the Warner Surplus is not far away either, they both have very good selection, I bought 1 pistol at Warnner Surplus too.

I use Keifers in Walnutport. It is a small shop, but Eric will go out of his way to get you what you want. Boyers is about 5min at best down the street too.

+1 for Warner's Surplus. Rich is also opening a shop in Wind Gap which I am looking forward to.
