Default Comp-Tac

This is a store review/product review. If this thread should be somewhere else, the assistance in moving it by a moderator would be greatly appreciated and I apologize for my error.

I have been using Comp-Tac's C-TAC IWB holster for my XD-40 tactical for a number of years now and I have been very happy with the comfort and flexibility of the user-adjustable cant.

Recently I needed to replace my belt (standard leather, JCPenny or similar) and wanted something a little sturdier and more appropriate for constant carry. I turned to Comp-Tac and their kydex-reinforced contour belt and I could not be more pleased. It was instantly comfortable (moreso since I bought one with a slight taper since I spend most of my time sitting at work) and I don't have to tighten it as much as my old belt to keep everything stable (XD, minitor 5, leatherman supertool, alpha pager) and in fact, everything feels more secure than with my old belt. I thought the price was a little steep at $80, but its worth every penny.

If you're looking for a holster or a new gun belt, I would, and have in the past to others, recommend Comp-Tac. Sure its not for everyone, but their products are working quite well for me.

Heres how great Comp-Tac is, in my opinion.

I dont particuarly register for forums i dont visit often, due to time constraints, however i registered here just to tell anyone with a sidearm or a CCW that you should deffently invest in Comp-Tac.

i got the Minotaur Spartan http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info...roducts_id=102

for my Beretta PX4 (full size, not the compact) that i carry at work since i deliver to some shady areas at late late hours. also i carry on my off time too. but thats not really important to the post heh.

i ordered last tuesday, 6 days production time, was shipped this tuesday, i got it today. i tried it on, holstered my weapon, and it felt soo perfect, so natural, that i almost forgot i was even carrying!

i used to use a generic uncle mike's holster w a tapped up piece of cardboard between myself and my holster to prevent my fat gut from perspiring against the weapon/holster. also for added comfort. Comp-Tac took that idea and make it all professional with their IWB designs. i choose the spartan due to limited financial resources. probably would have gotten the MTAC however, the spartan is pretty much the same thing with a few tiny luxuries removed.

my weapon fit perfectly, the holster fits me perfectly, and thanks to the adjustable cant, going from the standard "speed" postion of the uncle mikes, to the FBI cant my weapon is concealed better for both my safety and my job (they sorta have a thing agasint weapons; the only way they'd know is if i had to use it, and id rather be out of a job than out of a life). its comfortable, and ive been practicing lately doing a quick-draw, with the new kydex/leather hybrid minotaur spartan my draw has increased by at least a half second.

When i received the holster on my invoice was a hand written note that said "Thanks Greg ~Misty" and in the package with my holster was a pack of smarties. two tiny seemingly insignificant things that made a huge difference to me. I wasnt a number to them i was a person, a customer.... i like that kind of service and their product is fantastic.

i hope my rambling wasnt too much for ya. just really excited about the product and the company.

Glad you like your holster. Most of my CCW holsters are Comp-tac; they make great stuff.

I bought a comp tac holster for my MP 40 couple years ago and it just did not fit correctly,so I called them and they told me send it back and they will make all corrections needed. They sent it back and it fit great and I use it for cc, and have had no problems with it ever sense. I was very happy with the way the took it back and refit it for the gun.

I got a comp tac F.B.I. paddle holster when I bought my g21sf and it's the bees knees, it also fits my g30 . It is an excellent paddle holster, I would recommend it if you like paddles.

Comp-tac is good stuff. Their prices could be a little more reasonable and in-line with other major kydex brands, but the quality is nice.

I have several holsters from Comp-tac (couple CTACs, a couple paddles) and use them all on a regular basis. They've held up and have been reliable.
