Default FFL Transfer in Pittsburgh

hey yinz...

does anyone know of a good shop in pittsburgh (or near pittsburgh) that will fax their FFL to an out of state FFL and have a rifle kit shipped to them and then do the transfer for me at a reasonable cost?

i'm getting a stripped stag lower and stag rifle kit from a georgia dealer on AR15.com and need to have at least the lower shipped to an FFL to do the paperwork.

i remember a thread about the subject somewhere here on pafoa.org, but can't seem to find it.

thanks.

stan

(i went to the shop down the road from me where i bought my glock, but they don't have a fax machine--welcome to the stone age--so they would have to mail a copy to the FFL in GA. and they were hesitant to do the transfer at all because it is a "new" gun. i guess they want me to buy the new gun through them or something, but they don't sell what i am trying to buy. and i prolly won't be buying anything there again as a result.)

i think i may have found the answer to my own question.

www.gunrunnersofpa.com

looks like a guy in north versailles who basically had the same problem, so he got his FFL and set up a website that specifically caters to people buying firearms over the internet. you can request that he fax his FFL and receive a firearm for you directly from the site.

assuming it all works out, it is really cool.

i will post a follow-up to let everyone know how it works out.

Thank you for your great service Todd!!

And welcome to PAFOA...glad to see you here!

If anyone needs and FFL transfer done in SW PA, Todd is definitely the man to see. Just fill out the FFL request on his website...couldn't be easier.

(Disclaimer-type-thingie: I don't work for Todd. I had never met him before using his service. My endorsement is completely and solely that of a very satisfied customer and nothing else.)

I recently bought a handgun at gunbroker.com and had Todd do the transfer. He has the process down to a science. You'll want to buy firearms via the internet just to experience the gunrunner transfer.
