They weigh a ton, they are uglas as sin, and they are inexpensive. You need a bench to break one down, and did I mention they were ugly?

I have several. Despite what people say about them, you'll find that most of the people bad-mouthing them have never handled one, and most haven't even seen on in person.

They are well-built to 'reasonable' tolerances, using common materials; hence the low price.

Keep them clean and lubed, and they are nail-drivers; once you have enough rounds through it to know it, you might carry it for personal protection.

.380 is back around; I have 600 rounds sitting here on my desk all bought in the last three weeks that I need to put away..although it took 4 purchases to get that many...

The main reason for the .380 shortage is that the manufacturers use the same machines to make .380 that they use to make 9mm; no sense in changing out the jigs when you are selling all of the 9mm that you can crank out.

Personally, if I had to buy an inexpensive .380, I spend another $80 or so and pick up a Bersa, although I have PERSONALLY seen two fail from the same cause (a staked spring that come loose).

In short...there's nothing wrong with hi-points (although my day-to-day carry is an XD45 service).

I own a .380 and a 9mm in Hi-Point. Not anything I will hand down to the grandkids, but they both chew up and spit out ANY ammo I feed them!

Free would be a good price......and I still wouldn't shoot it. Makes a very handsome doorstop though.

Webmasters hate it when you hotlink to their site. Eats up their bandwidth and they have to buy more.
