They are loaded up right now, probably 8+ AR's, couple AK's, atleast 4 or 5 sig 556's, couple of aug's. Still have atleast one sig 226 blackwater tactical left too. Most def worth the trip if your looking to do something this weekend.

Also, if you are not going to step up and ask for what you want. Go back to your basement, get on your computer, and order online. You'll have a so much more rewarding experience.
Sorry, but I have to disagree on this. Someone offering a bit of help or even acknowledging your presence while they are inches from you talking to their buddy is a baseline standard for customer service if not manners.

My experiences in this place is that even when I ASKED for help it was given begrudgingly like they were bothered they had to talk to me.

I also went in fully intent on buying and left with the money in my pocket because it was just so poor.

I run my own business and also used to work in sales for years and it was drilled into my head to greet everyone and always get the merchandise into the customers' hands.

I can only imagine if others are posting experiences like mine how much business they are losing.

Their prerogative I guess, but these posts are valuable to those who like a small bit of assistance...

In the past 3 months I've bought 8 guns and none of them have been from Sportsmans Supply. I live 3 miles from their shop and I've been to their store at least 6 times in the last 3 months. It always amazes me how horrible their service is and that they make me feel like a pain in the ass for asking to see anything in the gun case.

Curt is the exception there. I had questions about gun safes and he spent 20 minutes walking me through their offerings and talking about the options. He was extremely helpful and I appreciated his time.

I stopped in there last week with $1000 in my pocket itching to get something new and no one would even talk to me. There were three guys working at 5:30pm, one talking on the phone and two eating dinner. I looked in the case, which one of the guys was eating on, and at no time did anyone ask if I needed help, did I want to see anything, etc. They talked to each other as if I wasn't there so I said heck with it and drove home.

The prices there are really good on some of their stuff but sometimes it's just not worth the hassle.
Summed it up quite well.

I don't need someone to hold my hand during my purchase process and I'm certainly not afraid to ask for what I want. Usually I know what I'm looking for. I guess it's all in what you want during your buying experience. If they don't want me to be in the store to browse, ask questions about what I'm looking for that they might be getting in, etc. that's fine....I may as well order it online and have it shipped. Good point.

However, I'd rather support a local business that is in my neighborhood and know that they value my business. I ended up buying 4 of the 8 guns I bought at a shop 10 miles from my house that I have to drive past Sportsmans to get there.

I still check what they have on Auction Arms and maybe I'll end up buying something from them. If I do, it will be based purely on opportunity and price. While I'm there, I'll make a point not to buy anything else so as not to inconvenience them.

In the end, some have had good experiences and some have had bad. That's why there is more than one store to buy from.

I stopped in to the store today and brought a friend who was looking at some of the "toys" with me.

Very well stocked up. A few Bushies, a Colt AR, a couple other ARs, and a couple Sig 556s to boot. Of course, lots of rifles, shotties, and hanguns. The Ruger rep was there, so I yakked with him for a few minutes.

Everyone was very nice (as they always have with me) and I was asked about five different times by five different guys if I needed help.

I have limited experience with them but when I went to the store about a month ago they were very friendly and accomodating even though I was not in purchase mode. I called last week to find out specs of the AR's they had in stock because I was purchasing. I basically got a very vague answer listing a few different brands and the person on the phone was very short with me. I asked about prices for the different models and he said "They go from 850 up to about 1500". Well yeah I know the range, I wanted specifics but it seemed to inconvience them. I just did not want to drive to 3 different counties looking at prices before I purchased, so I made calls. Ace was good on price and very accomodating, so thats where my money went.

I stopped in Sportsman Supply last night with my buddy for the first time.

We strolled around looking at the firearms in the rifle section. There was a very nice selection of rifles and shotguns. Lots of AR's but no AK's. I was looking for an AK. So I turned my atten to the pistol section and the fellow behind the counter was very helpful and showed us plenty of guns. There was a very nice selection of handguns.

My buddy bought some ammo. I asked about AK's. The fellow said jot down your name and number and what you are interested in and when we get one in I'll call you.

I was very pleased with my first visit there and I WILL definately go back . Great service and very freindly.

They do, but it's not exactly a huge amount. I'd call and see what they had before making the trip myself.
