I went there this past weekend and it will probably be the last time i ever go there. Way too many people shopping or just in the way.The prices are too high for just about everything, and lets just say the service isn't the best. I rather go to a local dealer any time.

I just stopped by Cabelas after going to American Sports shooting. The gun prices at Cabelas were at least 3-10% higher than A.S.S! Cabelas is a good place to look at a lot of options, but to buy ROFL. Support your local gunshop!

They charge MSRP, so new gun prices are stiff. Used gun prices are hit or miss. There are deals to be had on both. I picked up a new Remington SPS Varmint in .223 for $479 on a crazy sale they had, and have snagged a few deals on used pistols. Best was "Clackamas" marked Kimber at $550 (less the $100 off $500 coupon
). I'm a bit frugal, so I scour the bargain cave, and have had great luck picking up hunting and camping stuff.

I picked up and bought, in very good condition, a S&W 41 for $750 from Cabela's in Hamburg.

In general, I have to agree there prices are high. You have to watch for deals. Occationally you can find a nice used gun for a good price. You have to shop the sales and make good use of points and the %off cards.

You can find some NIB/LNIB guns for good prices on Cabelas Gun Library, too. I just picked up a LNIB Marlin 1894 Cowboy .38 for $200.00 less than the MSRP. The manual, lock, and the trigger extension were still neatly packed in the box. The Marlin was unfired.

![]() It is kind of like thrift store shopping.........you have to go in frequently because you never know what you might find. Many times you find nothing good and every once in a while you find a gold mine.
