Hey Quad,

That guy is really good ... a great asset to the store and to go at things like he does with the Physical Disabilities he has ... wow, I guess we should all be grateful, huh.

If you ever get a chance to talk to him, ask him about hunting ... when he's done telling you how he gets out and all the hassle he go's thru for a sport he loves you'll walk away sayin' ... " Man, I'll never bitch about another ache or pain "

" Quadzilla " ... do you ride ? ... got a 650 CanAm .. love it ![/quote]

Hey Bangin'...funny story....I don't ride quads (but did used to ride dirt & sportbikes). I got the nickname quite a few years back while working out at a local gym from one of my buddies. I was on an incline leg press (laying on my back) and I used every plate in the gym....over 800lbs for one rep...after that i was known as "quadzilla"!

But contributing to the thread....I have found STELLAR deals (mostly used) I picked up a pre-owned never fired Beretta 92FS in stainless for $375 a few years back. My most recent was a CZ Rami-P....brand new after sale & discounts was about $250 (with PICS and taxes) out the door...they're going for over $600 new now. I've seen some stupid stuff too...used Glocks, Steyr's and XD's priced higher than new! The key is to continue checking (weekly works!). The inventory changes rapidly. I once talked to a guy behind the counter & I was told they AVERAGE 1200 guns PER WEEK. Now that includes long guns...but still impressive! I support my local small guys as well, but if I can pick up a NIB INOX Beretta 92 for $375....no one can touch that!

Hey Quad,

Got the idea on the gym deal ... I see some pretty wild stuff at the gym I go to ... wow ! I started there just for Rehab from work injury, made plenty of friends and now try to make it there on regular schedule.

I'd have grabbed the 92FS for that price also ... my 90-two set me back more then that - never did find out exactly what the diff is between the ' 2 ' and the ' two ' ... ah, who cares , it go's " bang ".

Picked up a Mod 5 Rem on sale there a few weeks ago .. .17 HMR ... they treated us well and we really put them thru the hoops for scope mounts. Rem contracted the Mod 5 out to Serbia and seems nobody has scope mount info ... I don't want to use the Dove-tail / clamp mounts, rather use standard bases.

I'll report back on the .17 HMR, it's said that it's a great round by guys I know who also enjoy varmint shootin' ... we'll find out.

You do any varmint Quad ?

Going to have to drag ' CRLovel ' out soon ... he threatened to buy a .17 HMR and go with us on a ' Chuck Safari ' ( chucks + crows on 2 local farms ) ...

You ever meet Lovel .. friggen' riot .. he'll keep you laughin' !

... imagine someone with a brain hangin' around with me, that's gotta' be torture

Incident at Cabela's

A woman goes into Cabela's to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday.

She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter.

A Cabela's associate is standing there wearing dark shades.

She says, 'Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?'

He says, 'Ma'am, I'm completely blind; but if you'll drop it on the
counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes.'

She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway.

He says, 'That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod

with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. Test line.

It's a good all around combination; and it's on sale this week for only $20.00.'

She says, 'It's amazing that you can tell all that

just by the sound of it dropping on the counter.. I'll take it!'

As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor.

'Oh, that sounds like a Master Card,' he says.

She bends down to pick it up and accidentally farts.

At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes

there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was she who tooted.

Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around.

The man rings up the sale and says, 'That'll be $34..50 please.'

The woman is totally confused by this and asks,

'Didn't you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00?

How did you get 34.50?'

He replies, 'Yes, ma'am.

The rod and reel is $20.00,

but the Duck Call is $11.00

and the Catfish Bait is $3.50.'

I got a new Glock 17 there for $506. Not a bad deal if you ask me. It is however way too far of a drive to make it worth it when I can go to local shops with less gas and time spent on the road.
