Default What happened to Donleys Gunshop in Quakertown?

I drove by a couple times and it looks like the shop is vacant. Did they go out of business or move to a different location?

I believe they moved. I remember seeing a sign somewhere on 309 for the new shop. Something like "future home of Donley's"... something like that.

The address listed is 1541 N W End Blvd, Quakertown, PA 18951... but I don't know if that is their new or old one since I've never been to either.

I also saw a sign stating future home......I believe it was on 309 north of Quakertown.

They moved my cousin lives 5 or 6 houses down across the street so we were in there a lot. A few months back a customer brought a rifle in for repair and failed to saftey check it and when he handed it over pulled he trigger. The shot went through the wall into the office next door and hit a filing cabinet with several people in that office. That also happens to be the land lord who advised them they could stay IF they put up bullet proofing material on all the walls. Wasn't a cost effective option for them so they left.

And according to Dave the Borough has not been very hospitable to the point that they were not even allowed to put up a sign.

And we wonder why some gun shops have signs saying "no loaded firearms"

The new location is about 1/2 mile South of Bubba's Pot Belly stove on 309 below Coopersburg. The building is still in progress, but you can stop by and say Hello! They should be completely up and running in a few weeks (hopefully).

Wow, I had no idea. Good thing I didn't buy something and have it shipped there, I do all my transfers with them. Dave and Shirley are good people.

Good news that they didn't shut down and they're moving even closer to my house.

I actually stopped by yesterday and saw the progress. They aren't "open" per se, but allow anyone to come in and take a look around. Oh, and they won't say no if you see something that you like.

They are on 309 right next to that prospect metal recycling place. she said they have hopes of putting a shooting range inside the building at some point. That'd be a great location for one.

Heading north on 309 from Quakertown towards Coopersburg, they're on the right side (the eastern side of 309), up on a hill.
