I can assure you from ROing a metric $%^#-ton of shooters over the past few years, that many safety issues are the partial fault of stage design and not always soley on the individual shooter.

It takes a while to be able to look at a stage and think: "Ok, shooters are going to want to reload here.....while moving to there.....geez, guys who are left-handed are going to possibly sweep everyone if the brain shuts off". You have to think about that and then add it to your stage briefing. Even shooters who shoots thousands of rounds a year have fallen into the "180 trap" of a poorly designed stage.

It's a LOT of work setting up stages.

ROing is never easy. It's not just about watching the gun, but predicting events and being comfortable with physically intervening if necessary.

Good times.

June 2007 - group shoot #4...

Anyone else remember when they could fit ALL of their guns in one case?

Looking forward to taking more photos next month, like I have for nearly every shoot since the beginning.

I'm sorry, I do not know who BT is. I am still reading name tags at group shoots, I know maybe 10 people without looking.

As for panning up money, I have apps for memberships (Myself & was going to get memberships for the boys for X-mas, sorry to ruin the surprise, kids), but after hearing about the tension, decided to hold off for a while.

Unless I missed something, which is entirely possible, the need for certified RO's wasn't even mentioned until after shoot # 30. When it was brought to the attention of Poofers, steps were taken to correct the situation.

I was not at the group shoot with the sweeping incident so I can't say how un-safe that shoot was. I do know that I have seen a similar situation that was immediately & decisively handled by the RO. Safety should be the top priority at any shooting event.

I don't mean to whine but if we don't know what is going on, how can we correct the situation? I think it is an excellent idea to have a liaison between the club & the group shoots. I think with a little work and co-operation, we can all be on the same page.

Like I said before, it can be a win/win. We enjoys the club, the club get added monies.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the objection for the old timers about the shoots?
