A change of pace this month at LRGC. It's gonna be a short course, with pistol, rifle and shottie stages. Shottie will be fired on the trap range.

Here's the complete CoF, the loadouts, and the match format.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...oglegroups.com

For those that have not shot with us before, we require that you arrive 30 minutes early, or 0830 in order to attend a mandatory safety briefing.

New procedures starting this month will require a brief inspection of gear. We're not gonna dig under your charging handle with a white glove here. We only want to make sure you have a proper, strong side holster, eye/ear protection, and a serviceable firearm that you know how to operate properly.

Starting this month and for the remainder of 2009, the match fees are $10 members, $20 non-members. Also effective for this year - shooters under 18 years of age may not shoot the match on their own. We will grant specific and particular exceptions for this if the young person's parent has been shooting with us regularly. The parent/child must meet at the range on a non-match day where the prospective shooter will be required to demonstrate that they can efficiently load, unload, show clear, handle an induced malfunction, and repeatably demonstrate all safety practices required. If the shooter is not ready, please don't take it personally. Again, this paragraph applies to under 18 yoa only.

There are prizes that will be issued. We have Gold, Silver, and Bronze dog tag sets for this match. They are excellent, and it's likely we'll continue with them. We also have some food planned. A large pot of hot soup, and some baked ziti I believe. Please bring your own beverages.

Thank you all for a successful year in 2008. I just ordered eight new pieces of steel, including four spring-reset popper type targets. If these arrive, they will be used in the January match. I'm starting to get stage suggestions from people, and I like that a lot.

See you on the 31st and remember, we go rain, sleet, snow or shine!

Yep, I did good too.

Had a great time freezing my ass off, right up until my hand froze to the AK mag. I was kinds worried in the car stage as guys with 9mm were having trouble shooting the trip for the one moving target, but I took it out 1st shot with the .22 . I think the 9mm were going straight through the plastic and not having the desired effect where as the .22 stuck in it and transferred all of its energy.

I enjoyed all stages save for the freaking calisthenics in the first evolution. The safety on the AK was just too much and I didnt get off my last 7 shots. The safety and the 30rnd mags were a huge handicap. Need to find me some more 10 rounders.

All in all a good day.

Hey phred, lets have some scores!

No pressure.....

I just wanted to say that I had a great time, even though I had to have a few toes removed when I got home due to the frostbite..... Just kidding. (it did get cold as hell though)

You guys sure know how to have a good time.

Thank you Fred & Gary and the rest of the staff & RSO's.
I look forward to the next event.

BTW Fred, your wife makes a killer baked Ziti....

Thanks again guys..

You're welcome!

Come back again please.

She's an angel of mercy, she is. I'll pass that compliment on. She digs them, and every so often extra meat & cheese winds up in there.

We're a rifle program but we always have a stage that the pistol is used on.

Sure, you can use a .22 pistol but you need a proper holster for it, and must be able to lock it open on demand.

I was even going to let people shoot the close up stuff with a GSG .22. I have no problem with that, but it's not fair to score against guys with .308's. You could still shoot the CoF though. No problem there.
