medic is right. Although I started it out by inviting a few people to the range,(D-FENS and I were the only two who could make it on that "first" shoot) I gotta give D-FENS credit for starting a thread called "Pittsburgh folk unite for FOOD!!"(look it up)
It got a lot of us talking about food, but by page 2, we were already starting to talk of going shooting as well.

We made it happen. I think there were 10 people at the first "official" group shoot. We then took turns announcing the next shoots, and soon I sort of adopted it as my own project.
I made up invitations, and PMd them to just about anyone and everyone I could find in the Pittsburgh area. Each month we seemed to gain about 10 new members, and as the word spread of the food and fun, more and more people began to attend, and lend a hand. It became larger than one or two people could handle alone.

I never imagined it would last for more than 4 or 5 months.
I never imagined how it would evolve, how great they would become, or even how much drama could come of it. Yes, there were some ugly times, and although I don't dwell on them, I do keep them in mind as a reminder of how not to handle things in the future.

It was at that point that I decided it would be best if I simply stepped aside, and allowed things to progress on their own, allowing others to help out where they could.

I had envisioned the early shoots as a way for shooters from around the area to get together, to have fun, and to help promote the shooting sports. All of you who pitch in every month have made it happen, and made it happen well. I want to thank you all so very much.

Aside from the "ugly" phase, I'm very proud to be a part of what we all do every month, and really enjoy seeing everyone having a good time.

Don't forget to invite newer forum members to join us when you see them posting questions, or asking about "somewhere to shoot" in the area. We were all "first-timers" once.

There's nothing better than shaking a hand, sharing a story, and offering up one of your guns to a complete stranger. I've made some pretty damned good friends by doing just that.

Thanks to D-Fens too!!! Without these two guys, these monthly group shoots wouldn't have gone anywhere. I hope both guys can make it next month again!!!

I'm not planning anything...everytime I do something louses it up.
This is the second time I've unpacked all my stuff.

The day wasn't a total loss.
I bought my oldest a snowboard for Christmas and I promised I'd take him as soon as we had enough snow. Well, we had more than enough on Sunday, in fact it hasn't really stopped since.

I really wanted to make it down to go shooting but I think you guys understand.
