We are postponing the support day for Wicen's Shooting range on April 13th

Guys, don't let this rain on your parade, but we're going to postpone the shoot tomorrow.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the events at Wicen's, Joe told me that he has had to enact new ranges rules immediately. Since we were not able to inform people ahead of time of the new range fees, and trying to qualify a large group of people will probable restrict range time for many of us. I was expecting up to 100 people tomorrow.

We are going to postpone the date for a few weeks. I apologize for not letting you guys know about this sooner, but I just found out about this yesterday.

The new range fee rules are posted on the homepage http://www.wicenshootingrange.com/

RANGE FEES

All Shooters must have a Range Badge for the specific range section they are using.

The Range Badge qualification fee is $10.00 per initial range section, $5.00 for each additional range section.

The Range Sections are: 1) Rifle, 2) Handgun, 3) Trap Range

You must arrive prior to 4:00 p.m. in order to qualify for a range section.

Price to be on the firing line per day / per person is $15.00, plus any additional Range Badge qualification fees.

We accept cash only!

(Children under age 12 are $5.00 per day)

I'll be in touch with everyone in the near future.

UGH! I know it cannot be helped but I wish we had figured this out before today. I just spent 5 hours stripping and cleaning 6 rifles last night in preparation.

I saw the range fee rules on there more than a week ago - is that the only difference (granted showers wont help either)?

Bummer.

The range qualification rules have only been up there for a week, but I was not notified of this. I would have like to have been informed of the change sooner, but I'm not going to bash anyone. The range qualifications would be a mess since we were expecting a large turnout. It would cost $20-$30 to shoot tomorrow and I would get flak for falsely advertising that it was $15 to shoot all day. Not to mention that it may take awhile for you to be evaluated before accessing the firing line.

The range is open correct? it's just the fees went up.

The range fees shouldn't make a big difference

range qualifications, evaluated before accessing the firing line, Range Badge qualification.
Just what will this entail and are these badges good for future visits or is this an end around to raising range fees?

PS You may want to start a new thread with Wicen's Support Shoot Postponed as the title for those who may not receive notifications when a thread has new posts.

The badges are good for life.

I don't know exactly what the qualification evaluation is yet.

I'll contact a moderator to edit this thread title.

Personally, I don't see it being a big deal - at least not big enough to call off the shoot. Due to the chance of rain the turnout may be much less than you are expecting, and the qualifications may only take a few minutes. As for the extra cost, that wouldn't bother me at all, and I'd imagine it wouldn't be that big of a deal for 98% of everyone else.

Is the range open tomorrow? Because if so, I may go anyway. I want to shoot.

If you guys have any questions about the range, I would suggest calling them ahead of time.

Well damn. I just finished picking and packing nine guns to go tomorrow, then came here all excited to see what was up. Now I know what it's like to take a big bite of pissed in Cheerios.

That being said, the shoot just went from $15 to $30 or more. I'm kinda thankful now that it's been postponed/canceled/whatever. I'll just take a few of my toys to my gunclub (Paletown Rod and Gun Club) instead and have some fun for free. Well, free but for the ammo.

I'm surprised, and disappointed, that Wicen's couldn't cut PAFOA some sort of break or discount, considering how many people we had coming to this thing.

Their loss...
