Inter Ordance AK - Help?!
Guys, I'm looking into picking up a Inter Ordnance 7.62X39 AK47. Does anyone have any experience with these guns? Pro's - Con's? I handled it today and it felt really good, it pointed well, and seemed solid. One thing I did notice was that it did not have a chrome lined barrel - is that going to be a problem?
Asking price was $500 - new.
What ya'll think?

Re: Inter Ordance AK - Help?!
I wouldn't buy one without a chrome lined barrel, and I certainly wouldn't pay $500.
As for the "new" claim, I'd doubt it unless it's a Saiga. IO doesn't make anything; they are importers. They import parts and assemble them.

It's not a Saiga. Looks like the below but it has a fixed stock.

Re: Inter Ordance AK - Help?!
I disabled image viewing on my forum account; images show up as links so that I can pick and choose which images I want to see. When I click THAT one, I get a bunch of random ascii characters.
Anyway, not important. The point is, it is either an older gun that was made overseas and modified to be compliant by IO or by the manufacturer before IO imported it or it was a parts kit that IO assembled. I would not pay $500. ESPECIALLY without a chrome lined barrel.
Heck, my WASR-10/63 has a chrome lined barrel, is very accurate, and cost me $350. Got it from Classicarms. Came with a sling, a cleaning kit, a bayonet, and 2 steel mags.

Thank you for the input. Here is the link to the actual webpage.

It's looking like I should bag this and go the WASR route.

Re: Inter Ordance AK - Help?!
I can't comment on IO other than what I have read on other forums, but since you mentioned the WASR....
I ended up going the WASR 10 route and am very happy. The AK gods will have you believing that this is a total POS, but for $400 bucks for the gun, 2 metal mags, cleaning kit, oiler, and 40 rounds of Wolf, I couldn't be happier. It is accurate enough (I've never shot it beyond 50 yards) for "combat accurate" hits and eats all the steel cased ammo I can feed it. I looked at 7 different WASR's at a particular dealer and the one I got has very little mag wobble and a straight gas block and front sight. Good luck at whatever you choose.I don't watch shark week. Sharks watch FLICK week.

Re: Inter Ordance AK - Help?!
Buy a WASR. Anything the Romanians or Century did to it will be less annoying to fix than what IO is capable of.
That's some mix match parts kit built gun with an Amercian barrel built by people who can't tie their shoes sober.
Aren't the flying royal tiger something or other now...
