I have one of these and I tend to agree. rifle length gas system but still a bit shorter than a 20". With a collapsable stock it makes for a nice compact rifle that can easily hit targets at 600.

This is what I'm eventually going to buy. Wonder where I got the recommendation

This is an 18" custom build, with a 1-8 twist barel that is hell on target out to 600 yards with 75gr BH OTM

This one is an upgraded Armalite M15 SPR 20" that does almost as well with 68gr FGMM.

And yes, I almost always shoot for accuracy with the suppressors attached, though the POI change is pretty minimal.

Top one is a 4-16x XOTIC that was a from a line SWFA was having made to compete for a USMC contract about 6 years ago. They were pricey, didn't get the contract, and I think are out of production. I have two of them, one on a 50BMG and they've held up well and I find them a good value for the money I spent on them.

The bottom one is a Leupold VariX III 4.5-14 Tactical

Here is another question. Does adding a suppressor (threading the barrel for one as well) effect long range performance?

If I get into getting cans, Im going to do it on my AR, this is going to be my hotrod rifle. (might as well go all the way)

Anytime you mess with the muzzle end of the rifle you can affect accuracy.

That being said, a properly threaded barrel won't affect accuracy, certain types of flashhiders/muzzle brakes may affect accuracy. Decelkoping lods for a properly setup suppressed gun will not have a negative impact on accuracy and may have a positive one as the weight on the end of the barrel can reduce harmics that would affect overall accuracy.
