i did check a few websites, the #'s only went up to 5 digits.

According to the chronology list in "Black Rifle II", your rifle was made in 1981 or 1982. The 1982 start number was listed at SP158201. As you didn't list the third digit in your rifle's serial number, I posted the two years cut-off for you. I hope this helps.

the third # is 6

Then I would say your rifle was made in 1981.
