Default Re: ? about Mags for AK

That makes sense.

Tell him to please, please not try to modify the gun. It's not going to work. Just use the stripper clips to load it. They work well, 10 rounds at a time.

If he wants more capacity, he should just buy an AK. They're dropping in price right now and are readily available.

Bud called me back today regarding his gun.

<snip>
I posted him what you all filled me in and he checked everything out today and now knows that it is true. He also figured out that those little "strip things " are indeed stripper clips.
Thanks guys.

Good, send him over! Its a real never-again-importable CHICOM gun. One of the best of the SKS made.

And remind him;

Everytime an SKS gets bubba'd, an angel LOSES their wings. Its not nice to bubba the SKS.

Speaking of bubba'd SKS's...

Did a Gander Mtn recon today in their Moon Twp store; they had taken in a Factory 26 Norinco-marked CHICOM - bayo was removed and it was in an ATI "Dragunov" stock.

What a waste.

IIRC, Factory 26 guns were the only CHICOMs where the build-date could be deciphered - and C&R status possibly claimed - due to this factory being the first CHICOM SKS factory built and with serial numbering established by the Russian managers in the mid-50's.

What a waste of a good, early CHICOM.
