Got enough AK's in 7.62, but that AK style Saiga SGL41 in .410 looks sweet.

I was saving up for a new AK. This just made it that much easier. I ordered a SGL21-61. A lot of retailers around here are still selling used Arsenals in the 750-900 range

So how do these stack up to some of the other AKs on the market? I kinda want one, but I'm not quite sure what's good and what's not.

So, just to get a solid "yes or no" answer before I order, even though the 7.62x39 models are Saigas the CAN take regular 30 round milsurp mags, correct?

I just paid $850 3 days ago for basicly the same damn thing from Arsenal!
Could have had one of these and an extra case of ammo.

Got the SGL20-41

Want to get even more pissed?

Classicarms.us has had WASR 10's for 385 for the last month. And alot more for way less than 850. You can usually throw on 50 more bucks and u get 4 more mags and a carrying case too.

Yes. As far as I know, they were imported as Saiga sporter rifles (no pistol grip, low capacity mags). They then add the features banned from import using US parts while complying with 922r. The final result will take any standard AK-47 magazine/drum.

Edit:
You can actually convert your own Saiga sporter, which is what some people did to save money(since they run about $350 or so). Now that they've dropped so low, I don't think it would be worth the effort unless you're just doing it for the experience. This site details how if you're curious.

They are a great rifle and are true Russians made at the Izhmash factory by Legion (the custom shop). You cant go wrong with these rifles at this price. I paid almost double for mine less than a year ago. This deal will not be around again IMHO...

So, in your opinion, how would the Saiga stack up against the Bulgarian SSR's that Atlantic has on their site for virtually the same price? Disregarding the Saiga model with the rail (assume you wouldn't use it) which rifle do the think is higher quality all around??

EDIT: I have a third to add to the comparison if anyone knows anything about them; Kings has a couple Lancaster Arms Russian Reds for pretty much the same price as the other two. A quick google search says good things, but I love to hear personal opinions.

They are great rifles. They are Russian made AKs ... what more can you ask for?

I'm not d90king but ... I would take one of these AKs over the Bulgarian any day.
