Did you search youtube, their is some nice vids on the psl, shooting 400 yards with 4 power.
There was a psl on sale here awhile ago, east side of Pa, with case.

And yes, beyound popular demand, I run heavy. got a case of it. too late. oh well... Good luck.

PSL FTW!

Can't go wrong with AIM's pricing on this rifle. Stay away from any ammo higher then 149(ish) grain mil surp. Anything more is too heavy for the rifle and you'll end up destroying the recoil spring, rear trunion etc, etc.

As for accuracy this rifle is highly under rated. As mentioned earlier check youtube and there are videos of 600+ yards getting 3"-4" groups. I can do that at 300 yards but 600 yards I am happy to hit paper but I doubt its the rifles fault.

As for Kalinka... not gonna tell you to avoid, because I have a fixed 8x PSOP optic and it works fine. The existing 4x PSOP also works fine, just be prepared to do some reading on how to zero. If your really concerned about the scope get a Side rail mount with a weaver rail at the top. Just make sure to get the SVD rail mount version, and not the AK version. The 2 types of rails are different, if you mount an AK slide rail to the PSL it will fit until you take the first shot, which it then promptly falls off.

When I first got the rifle I had some feed issues, but as I shot it the issues resolved themselves. Just be sure to hit it with boiling water when done to prevent the salts from eating it alive.

Recently, I had seen a PSL with the black polymer stock at a gun shop. The rifle also came with the original wood stock and ammo. Cost was $725.00. It was finally sold about three weeks ago after it was sitting on the display for months.

Centerfire Systems apparently has the Polymer stock set for about $179. While I am tempted to bite on it, I have other things on my immediate horizon.

i've been feeding mine bulgerian lite ball, and it really likes it.....like 5shot 1.5" groups @100yrds good.
i was going to reload for it, but as long as it keeps doing what it is, i'm not bothering. it's the only gun i have with optics on. the more i shoot it, the better it gets.

i love my romanians, and the psl is just one i had to have.

If the original stock is anything like the Drago single stack WASR stocks... then it's like grabbing a tree stump. (Horrible) However, if the poly stock is modeled to similar dimesions, this is an incurable affliction. Whereas with wood, I can bust out the sanding drums and the dremel and reshape the back strap until it fits my hand properly.

I was pretty sure I would be after the poly stock set, as it looks great, but I'd hate to sink $175 into a stock set that doesn't fit my hand. That's something that's pretty hard to tell from a picture too.

Eh, I need to get my hands on a rifle first... I got the green light from the woman, I just need to get the money together now.

ETA: Nice AK's Brian! Be nice if that PSL furniture wasn't so different. I like the blonde front handguards... wish it was all that way.

i don't know what it is with them, but every psl i've seen has had miss matched wood.
i'm more a fan of the dark wood.

You soooo just lied in this post. This is the only rifle you use 2 optics to shoot.

the details will kill you, and you are now dead. please deposit another quarter if you wish to continue.

Awesome... internet pwnage now included in my thread. Of course since nothing was actually specified no one else can appreciate it.

In the end, whatever glass required - if it will shoot 1.5MOA with surplus, I would be happy with that result.

4MOA not so much...
