Default AR-15 air rifle upper

Pilkington Competition Equipment is working on an air rifle upper to fit standard AR-15 lowers. It looks like they will be powered by bulk CO2.

Price is expected to be around $1100. Sounds like a lot, but I'm sure some dedicated DCM/CMP shooters will buy them if they are well made and accurate.

What will they think of next?

That'd be the Systema SuperMAX Professional Training Weapon from Japan.

An easy $1400.00+ for an uber-tech electric airsoft M4rgery; the Mt Everest of airsoft ARs if not airsoft guns period.

Also, at least one Japanese airsoft company has had a CO2-operated blowback recoiling "bolt" AR for years, and recently Tokyo-Marui - the artists of ABS - have just released a predominately metal electric Colt M4 with a recoiling "bolt" and the Systema PTW-like functional bolt-release-at-empty-mag-change. For like a 3rd less than a PTW.
