Noveske - Do they live up to the hype?

I have an opportunity to pick up a Noveske N4 basic carbine upper NIB. Is Noveske kit as good as everyone says it is? This particular model has a 14.5" 1/7" twist barrel with a perm. attached Vortex flash hider.

I guess it depends on the "deal" you're getting.

Me, i can't justify the $3-400 more that they cost over a BCM or LMT. Sure they have the hammer forged barrels and extra chrome lining but will that matter for your aplication?

For the price of a Noveske upper about $850 w/o BCG you could get a complete Colt 6920. Or darn close. Since the BCG and charging handle will run you another $200 you are at $1050 for just the upper. Colt 6920's are down to $1175 and less now.

So, i guess it just depends on the deal you're getting and what you intend to do with it.

The deal is a trade for my LaRue upper, plus a chunk of cash coming from the other guy. I have an 18" barrel and I want a shorter barrel, so the Noveske upper fits the bill well.

Well then i guess it's up to you. Noveske has a very big following. Again, i do not own one because of what i stated above. Just keep in mind that you can get a NIB Noveske upper from Bravo Co (they are in stock) for $840. Again, this does not include the BCG, charging handle, or any rear sights.

So, take that into account when you work on the deal for your Larue upper.

Yeah, i guess that's a pretty good swap for you The larue uppers are like $1200.

So,
$840 Noveske upper
$200 BCG / Charging handle
$140 Troy site
$250 cash

$1430 total for a $1200 larue upper.

Truthfully I think the answer to your question is YES. Noveske make very, very good gear. I have Colts and LMT's and have a LaRue OSR on order but I would jump on a pig if the chance came along.

BCM is one of the better values out there also if you are looking to build a rifle.

Noveske is great stuff.

Damn, not a bad trade there. I'd definitely go for it if I were you. Noveske will not disappoint.
