Default The REAL Del-ton order timeline!

It has been 16 weeks since I ordered my Rifle kit from Del-ton. I ordered it right in the thick of things, not because I was panic-buying, but because I finally had the funds. Their website says a 12-16 week eta before an order is shipped. I emailed them to find out an eta on my order and I received a response fairly quickly. They are currently building orders from Janurary 6th. That puts them 24-28 weeks behind not the 12-16.

Also at a certain point they take away your ability to cancel your order without penalty, which I find dumb but I understand why they do it.

Anyway its just a heads up, place an order now and expect it in Janurary 2010 if the current trend continues.

P.S. I'm not bad mouthing them, I just wish their information was correct. Their prices are still the same from a year ago which is very commendable in an industry enthralled with price gouging their customers. I refuse to do business with companies who took advantage of people when they can least afford it. I can say as of now I will do business with Del-ton again.

Del-ton sucks with their time line.

Cancel your order - buy an upper from Bravo Co or Pk firearms - get a lower from whatever local shop has one (they are coming back to stock) - buy a stock from just about anywhere and call it a day. You could have the rifle built within 2 weeks.

Do you know of anything/anywhere that comes close to the price of $485 for the complete kit (barreled upper, BCG, LPK and stock) + the price of a lower?

i ordered my upper in october of last year and just got it in April. They said the delay was a YHM flip sight/gas block that was backordered. why don't you call them up and ask what the delay is? if it is a part, maybe you could swap it out for a different one in stock and get it sooner.

Nope - but then again, i kinda stay away from the cheaper junk guns.

I'm rather fond of 1/7 twist - true mil spec barrel steal - and a chrome lined barrel / chamber. I'm also fond of the M16 Auto bolt carrier.

So, figure $475 for a BCM upper, $150 for an auto bolt / carrier, $25 for handguards, $70 LPK, $80 for a stock and $150 for the lower.

So, you are looking at $800 for the parts and $950 with the lower. But, you'll have a much better rifle than a Del-Ton.

after looking at the del-ton site again, complete rifles are $750. rifle kits that do not include the stripped lower runs from $465-$485.

with that price range, a member is selling an A1 16" upper with BCG and CH for $450in the classified section here:
http://forum.pafoa.org/accessories-a...per-parts.html

or this member that is selling a RRA 16" without BCG and CH here:
http://forum.pafoa.org/accessories-a...ned-upper.html (Rock River RRA 16" 1/7 Chrome Lined Upper)

True.
I understand what you're saying, and it's not for me.

They do offer 1x7 chrome lined for like $45 more FYI.
Comes to $530+150(lower)
Which would be $680 + BUIS.

I'm trying to help a buddy put one together on the cheap, but after hearing the wait is doubled what they're advertising, I'll have to try to talk him into spending a bit more.

I stated $485 + $150 (for the lower) in my previous post.
