Ammo is not expensive- fairly easy to find- try this link for parts and for mags, http://www.e-gunparts.com/
(Numrich Gun Parts Inc)
You can find parts and mags at pretty much any gun show, for the most part the parts interchange unless you have a Universal carbine.

I've got an IBM and as stated above, they are usually mixmasters. It has an IBM receiver and barrel, but everything else is different. It's part of the history of the rifle though. It was thru the CMP and is a service grade. In good shape but looks like it's "been there, done that".

About 346,000 IBM M1 carbines were made.
