Default sig 556 question

i saw online that ar 15 grips should fit the 556,and a pic of one with magpul miad grips on it.might have even been on here. i went to my friends house today and we tried to fit my colt take-off on his 556 and it was a no-go.

has anyone put aftermarket grips on their 556?..did you have to custom fit it? does someone specifically make grips for the 556? thanks for any info.

Haven't tried it on my P556, but I know most AR parts are not interchangeable with the Sig platform.

yeah thanks...found it on the sig 556 forum. they used a command arms upg16 grip with the interchangeable front and back panels. it had to be modified to fit correctly. looks badass tho!

I don't like the CAA grip on it at all. It's chunky and wierd...fat and dented. The original 556 grip looks 10x classier. That's just me though.

The only I did with my P556 is replacing the A2 FH with a Noveske Flaming Piggy and added a TLR-2 light/laser to the handguard.

I'll take some when I get home tonight or maybe tomorrow. I have a few taken, but without the piggy brake/FH. It's a P556 pistol, not a full rifle though.

Not my finest photos, but these should do:

Yes, I know the piggy is upside down, can't do much about it.
