who is getting the new sig 522 rifle???

I'm picking one of these up when I get back from across the pond next year. It will either be a belated birthday or anniversary present from my wife to me :P

I don't have a .22 rifle, and I like the look of this and it will give me an idea as to whether or not I want to spring the big bucks for a sig .556 instead of a regular AR15.

Does anyone know how this stacks up against the GSG? I just purchased my girl one about a month ago. She is just getting into rifles so I figured why not buy something we both like! haha. Kind of like the way the sig looks but also like the GSG.

That looks pretty slick, but for the AR build I want it in a 5.56/.223 calibur. With the 22, I'd like to get my hand into this rifle. Sometimes you just need a little strange.

My wife and I were at Insite Firearms in Jeffersonville a few weeks ago and they had a Sig 522. My wife didn't like it very much, but she's not a big AR fan (neither am I). It felt pretty solid, though. I don't know if it's still there or not.

Just joking around. These .22's on full frames seem to be all the rage. Sig / Sauer is producing a lot of their models in .22 LR as well. The price on all of them runs around the $500.00 mark, give or take. Bill T.

Hate to poo on your parade, but SCOTUS left the door open for restrictions. I don't think they're allowed to buy ANY semi-automatics in D.C. yet. I am sorry but I find it a little hard to believe that there was one at a store yet because I called SIG this morning 07-08-09 and they told me that the first ones to hit the streets are now scheduled for August.

I have money down and am first on the list for one of these 522's at my local dealer. According to SIG Customer Service they are made by SIG not Umarex, walther, GSG or anyone else. Also they do not have the fake shrouded barrel and other fake features like are on the Colt Umarex M-4. According to SIG CS the 522 has a hammer forged barrel and will also have 30 round magazines that are not over a foot long like the Colt / Um.

My only hang up on the 522 is what type of sights will be on it. I am hoping for something more substantial than the typical junk leaf sight from the standard version of the SIG 556. But even if that is what it comes with there are aftermarket replacement available.
