Default Bayonet lugs...

If your rifle has a bayonet lug, do you have a bayonet to go on it? If so do ever think you will fix bayonets and charge?

In all honesty I have a bayonet for an AR and an AK, I have no lug on my AR and I have no AK. How screwed up am I.

Personally I don't need a bayonet lug on my AR that's what bullets are for, if I run out of ammo in my rifle, that's what pistols are for.

So.....

Why do people have the attraction to bayonet lugs, and other than the fact that it adds to authenticity of a rifle and looks tacti-cool, why is it a must for some people?

I only put a bayonet on rifles whenever I feel the need to hold it above my head, while in bed, and do the "this is my rifle" thing from "full metal jacket"

Most people want Bayonet lugs on thier rifle for no other reason then THEY CAN.

I think anyone who feels the day may come that they will need to FIX BAYONETS and charge better start looking for a new plan because the old one puts them too close to the BG.

But yes I think the biggest reason for wanting a bayo lug is Because i can.

We never did that with bayonets attached, someone would loose an eye.

I will say the only good reason for a bayonet these days is in extreme CQB when going house to house, if a BG comes at you from around a corner, you can stick him and shoot him at the same time.

Well atleast you got it right and your not doing the "this is my gun" thing while holding IT over your head or should I say TRIING TO GET IT OVER YOUR HEAD.

I have a bayo for my Cetme. Just for kicks.

The bayo for my 1891 Argie Mauser is more expensive than the damn rifle itself. About $300. If anybody knows any different... or any cheap chinese knock offs, please let me know!

I lived in NY and when the federal AWB sunsetted I still couldnt have one. So when I moved to Pa I changed uppers. Sold the post ban bought No ban. Why? Because I can. That is it. It was more a political statement. Same with FH.

I have one because its always more fun to "finish off" the really expensive textbook that the bookstore won't give me more than 5 bucks back for...pound the hell outta them with the 590 then sneak in for the kill

that being said, the bayonet on my 91/30 is great because its longer than half my arm

yes i'm a disturbed individual, but i'm mostly harmless

I'd never put a bayo on my Bushy. That being said I'd buy an upper with a FH and bayo lug over an upper with a FH and no bayo lug. Why? I guess just because I can (as stated in an earlier post).
