Default new Remmy 7600 needs help...which gunsmith?

I have a new Remington 7600 in .30-06 that racked the heck out of me on its first outing and my accuracy at 100 yards suffered; I would like to have trigger work done (lower pull weight and eliminate creep without compromising safety) and have a muzzle brake installed (clamp on or mill the barrel for a screw on; reduce recoil and enhance controllability of the rifle);

can anyone recommend a gunsmith for this work (preferably someone based in PA since these rifles are prevalent in our woods and hopefully there are smittys in the area that work on them); BTW...I live in Dauphin County near the Lebanon County border

thanks

I don't know of any smiths in your area but do have a suggestion. Try a good recoil pad first. Get a Kick-eaze or one of the other good gel style models. It will be more effective at reducing felt recoil than a brake and will me much easier on your ears.

Do you mind doing some work yourself? This trigger kit is less than $10 delivered ----> http://cgi.ebay.com/REMINGTON-7400-7...QQcmdZViewItem

Ahh, sounds familiar. I absolutely love my .35 rem in 760 Gamemaster, and although the .35 rem is no where near the 30.06, typically I hear from a lot of people that say their pump rifle really kicks hard. I agree with the above post, first, get a GOOD recoil pad. I put a Sims Vibration Laboratory recoil pad on my 30.06 Rem Model 700 and the difference was like night and day. That took the recoil down to about a 30.30.

Then, I bought some of the Remington reduced Recoil ammo, and I absolutely love it. The gun shoots with great accuracy with this ammo. I suspect you will like this ammo as well.
