Default Anyone familiar with this AK variant?

Was browsing the local GS's website and came across this:
http://www.ioinc.us/graphics2/akgaliltxt.jpg

According to the site, MSRP is $499.........fair?
Was just curios if anyone has any knowledge or experience with IO Inc.

Thanks,
S. Bass(ist)

i had good experience with them, never no problems, yeh that would be a good price, if they still have any in stock, ya might want to call them and ask. and then see if they have your dealer on file and order one.

The IO folks are nothing if not creative!

In any event, their "Made in USA" AK is basically their version of what Century once did with their AMDs and Yugos; combine a US-made recvr stamping, US-FCG and poly furniture, US-made barrel - with the foreign parts (likely Romy) not yet being made domestically.

With that many USA-made parts coupled with foreign parts they are 922 compliant and can have bayo lugs, hi-caps, folding stocks; ALL the evilness we associate with an AKM!

Considering the current market - if you can find one, buy it.

I agree their ad should read ASSEMBLED in the USA. That's most likely Romanian parts with US compliance parts. $500 a fair price? A month ago HELL NO...but now? Maybe.

If they are totally made here in the states you would likely see a much higher priced AK. Theres not a heck of a lot to improve upon on any foreign stamped model AK. Even the crappiest of AK's work, lol. Part of the appeal factor for an AK is it's low cost, at least before prices started climbing recently.

For me, the more domestic components that are on an AK, the more it loses its appeal to me. Gimme an old rockin commie block gun any day.
