Well.. My first investment is going to be a scope.
I'll be getting a vertical grip soon. If I decide to get a sight instead of a scope I'll need a flip up front site to.. Im not going to put a million things on it and make it look weird... Just a couple accessories here and there. |

Ok,
As you know, most folks buy a certain configuration based on what they are going to do with the rifle. Your rifle is mostly purchased by people that want to add a scope, and don't want the front sight base. Buy a scope with a low power setting like 2-7 and plenty of eye relief. A forward grip will work with any rail system, but due to torque on the rails I would go with a free floating rail. These require you to cut the delta ring off of the rifle with a Dremel. Midwest Industries #20 is a great rail for $170 or so. Yankee Hill is cheaper, buy many folks claim they are not true 1913 specs, and some items don't fit properly. Midwest Industries and Sampson are both good.

First you need to make a decision.
How long a rail system do you want? 7" I think will fit with that front sight block/gas block still in place. If you want something longer, you will need a new low profile gas block. I have a Troy MRFS (sp?) on mine. |

I've got a KAC RAS on mine and I like it...That being said, you can get something a LOT cheaper that would probably serve the same purpose just as well.

The YHM brand is very nice and runs about $99.

I would get a free floating hand guard for that rifle like a larue that went over that gas block although a rail may not fit over that gas block

It's going to be too wide to fit over it. It may clear on height but the width may not. I just ran into a similiar situation on one of my guns.
He'll need to get a low profile block or make one. You probably could dremel that existing block and cut off some of it. |

I have the surefire rail system on my AR and you don't need to cut or alter the gun at all. It is plenty sturdy for a forward grip and tac light. www.surefire.com Sorry about the small pic.
