The Chrysanthemum is the symbol of the emperor , thats why japanese soldiers remove it from the rifle if they wanted to keep the rifle after the war, the Chrysanthemum means that the the rifle were military issue, the same way the triangle on a Chinese SKS means that the rifle is military issue.
One of the most beautiful rifles i have ever seen were a reconditioned type 99 Arisaka. Dont worry i see 7.7 jap ammo at gun shows all the time. nyman |
