You are probably better off getting a scout mount that replaces the rear sight. Hex receivers didn't have PU scopes. They used PE or PEM scopes. Still, a PU or PE scope and mount will run you $250 at least. I bet that's more than your Bubba'd gun.

if i get it for price i offered yeah it is the gun is hacked but it was a verry tasteful sporter job other than barrel being cut down its nice in its own way but far from collectable any more thus to me its not worth much

If your rifle is already "sporterized"and your just wanting an inexspensive scope mount, Cheaper Than Dirt (1-800 421-8047)CheaperThanDirt.com,
has one .
Part number MGR-342 for $41.97 plus S&H.
Other suppliers have the same product also.
This "kit" also includes a stainless steel bolt handle, and the drill and tap to install it, although, I don't recommend that. Have the handle welded on, or, like mine, make one and weld it on.
I have installed these mounts for other people, and have one on my Mod.38
Mosin. They can be installed by using a "c"clamp and drill press, and the drill bit and tap included. It is easily accomplished, and the mount works as advertised. DO NOT DRILL INTO YOUR CHAMBER!!! USE A DRILL PRESS AND SET YOUR DEPTH.
Inexspensive, "Weaver" type mount, but definitely not for a rifle you intend to keep as close to military as possible, so it will NOT be acceptable for a C&R rifle.
But, it works well.

I've read somewhere, that the hex receivers are somewhat stronger, but they took too much time to make, more machining involved, which didn't work out so good during ww2.
