Default Any SKS fans here??

I've seen a lot of threads here about AK's and AR's, but not really much about the SKS.

Are there any SKS fans here? Anyone got pics of theirs?

I didn't even know the SKS existed until I stumbled upon it online one day, and now I'm infatuated! I going to try to make it down the Harrisburg Gun Show in March and pick one up for myself (either a Chinese or Yugo).

it was my first rifle i bought on my own. They are sweet. Easy shooting, decent accuracy, cheap ammo, and they are cheap to buy. You can make a project of buying one at a gunshow for cheap and cleaning it up and tearing it apart to get it all squeeky clean.

I dont have any pictures, but mine is a yugo SKS which i got for 149$. You can't beat that.

Default Re: Any SKS fans here??

I recently became hooked on the SKS.
Here's a post with pics of mine. It's a Yugo. Paid $129 at Dunham's (Big Sale)
(see the link in the post to my photobucket page with more SKS pics wheen it was still caked in cosmoline!) http://www.pafoa.org/forum/gun-pictu...-gun-pics.html

I don't have much time right now, but here are some good sources for SKS info...

http://www.yooperj.com/

http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/index.asp

http://www.sksboards.com/

You can't beat the price and they are fun to shoot.
I don't recommend adding all the "cool" aftermarket stuff, as most of it does little to improve upon a great design. This includes high capacity mags. If you want a gun with a 30 rd. mag, buy an AK.

Gotta run, good luck!

If you think you have the right not to be offended. I suggest you promptly purchase a toe attachment and a twelve gauge. One time use is all that is necessary.

A Norinco Paratrooper and an Albainian. Just wish they had better sights like USGI weapons do.
