My wife is very pleased with her Savage Model 93R17. The heavy barrel settles it nicely, and the Accu-trigger is simply unsurpassed, at least by anything near the price range.

Last summer she was shooting 3/4" groups with it at 100 yards. Repeatedly.

We haven't had the rifles out since the end of hunting season, but are taking them out today. It will be interesting to see if she can repeat that performance

Savage 93 R17JTV topped with a Barska Hot 17 is a dime sized group at 50 - 200 yards, NO WIND. Blued, not stainless.

I like stainless but cost is a factor right now since I have other projects going on so I might end up with just blued

If there is one round that will give you utter enjoyment of the shooting sports it is the 17 hmr, one of the most fantastic ideas to come along in the shooting world in a long timeexcept for maybe HK inventing the polymer handgun.

That being said, the 17 hmr is a very acccurate round and very good guns are made for it a t a very low price, the Savage 93 is a nice gun but i didnt like the cheap polymer stock, so i got the the Marlin 917 with the heavy barrel, what a gun, i can pop clay birds at 120 yards all day long. Mine has a 3x9 Bushnell scope on it, super accurate , laser like accuracy , hit whatever i aim at without any adjustmants to the scope very flat shooting round.

You will have fun with it.

I shot a friend's CZ 452 American 17HMR over the weekend, it's a beautiful gun, much like my own CZ 452 American 22LR is. Savages are pretty accurate but not particularly nice to look at, I prefer my CZ. IMO, it's the best rimfire you can buy for under $400 without looking at $1000+ Anschutz/Sako/Cooper models.

I really like my savage .17 HMR. The real reason I even bought it was because I found it in left hand, but have been pleased with its accuracy. Mine has a wood stock and a heavy barrel. For the price you can't go wrong.

I love my Savage 93 with a heavy barrel. At 100 yards I can cover 5 shots with a nickel. It's a lot of fun to shoot.
