Default Trigger pull on a Mini-14

Can anyone explain how to reduce the trigger pull on a Mini-14? AKA; a trigger job. I've already polished the contact surfaces on the trigger & sear surfaces. Can the trigger coil spring be annealed? The trigger is really stiff, I'm not so concerned about the creep distance. Any "do not do's"? Thanks for your ideas.

Thanks, Stack. It's neat, but I thought that since I can buy a replacement trigger spring for under two bucks there's room for experimentation. I certain it's been done, we'll wait and learn from others success. And I have more time than money.
