Default Winchester 9422?

I was at my dealers office picking up a gun for my friend. While they were bsing about the gun i noticed a winchester 22lr lever action rifle. My main question is does winchester make another tubefed 22 lever action or just the 9422? He didnt know what it was worth cause he took it on a trade and I was gonna offer him like $200 cause I didnt even know what it was. I noticed the serial number was in the 3 millions so its not old. any ideas?

Winchester doesn't make the 9422, or anything else for the most part any more. Go to gunbroker.com and do a search for 9422. That will give you an idea as to what people are willing to pay for them, and what people would like to get for them.

The dissappearance and resulting price increases in the already-expensive Win 94 .22 lever is what lead me to my Henry.

I'd say that if you offer $200. and he takes it - then RUN to the ATM or whip out that Visa. A Win 9422 for Henry .22 money is a bargain and a half.

But I'd venture to bet he'll want at least $400.00.

Dumbest thing Win did was to end the 9422 production. If they were priced just a hundred over a Henry - they'd sell all they could make due to name alone for those of us that like the levers.

Well, there were a few 1873's in .22, the 250/255, and the 9422. I would say it is a safe bet that it is a 9422

I just came by a few images of 9422's. They all had hammers, but the one I looked at was hammerless. Are there hammerless 9422's cause I havent seen a pic of one yet..

With that information I would say it is a safe bet that it is not a 9422. Do a few searchs for the model 250, they don't have an exposed hammer.

Have one, it is a nice accurate .22 lever action. Accurate as long as you use a scope instead of the tang type sight.
