The ammo was taken off the market for civilian purchase do to it's "armor piercing" characteristics out of the FN 5.7 handgun.

The only POSSIBLE explanation for you having an AR pistol that is half the size of a PS90 is that you have a .22 (no buffer tube) AR pistol with a 5.5" barrel which would still make it well over half the size of the PS90 (again, this is WITH a 16" barrel on the PS90). My AR pistols have full size buffer tubes, but even with a 3" shorter shorty tube it's nowhere near half the size.

Here is a quick size comparison with a 9" AR pistol, a 16" AR, a 20" AR, an FS2000, and an RA XCR with stock folded.

(yes, the PS90 now resides in it's shipping box. It's just not fun to shoot, kind of like shooting a bb gun, so I no longer shoot it. The FS2000 blows it out of the water.)

If I had a PS90 with SBR, a 1911 would be just about half the size.

Either way, I hope that some of this information helps make the decision. If you wanted the PS90 for the cool ammo factor, or the AR upper for the cool ammo factor, it's not worth it. If you want it for the compactness and high round count, or just all around "cool factor", it certainly is worth it.

I see you have two FN rifles. How hard are parts to come by?

I have never had a problem with either so I couldn't tell you (both have about 2000 rounds through them, so rather low round counts). I've never bothered to look for parts, but from what I read, Bob Allies from FN has no problem helping people get the parts that they need. Of course it's FN's policy to examine and fix the weapon themselves though. I have no problem with that either if/when my FN's do fail. I thoroughly enjoy the FS2000 (and before that, I did love the PS90). Now the damn SCAR just needs to get here. I'm not a parts whore, and if there is a problem, I can live without the rifles for a week or two while they get professionally fixed.
