Before you buy, I've been under the impression that replacement parts are very hard to come by on FN's rifles. I wound up going with an MSAR STG-556 instead of the FN-2000 because of this.

the big deal to me is the 5.7mm caliber. i know its expensive, and i know i wont shoot it much, but having 50 round mags that are reliable and inexpensive is a big plus!

i am thinking VERY hard about this option instead, as it will save me about 1000.00 dollars....!!!

The 5.7 round is now cheaper than quality .223/5.56 ammo.

A huge advantage of the PS90 is the compactness of it. If it weren't so compact, I wouldn't even consider it. The upper is cool, but I'd only get one if I had the PS90 prior to that.

the compact part is nice, but to me the round is just cool. i like what it does and how it does it.

compact is ok, but i have an AR pistol for compact... lol

saving a grand is far more important to me. i think picking up an upper is the way i am going to go...

I just curious of how the trigger is. The trigger reminds me of a Bushy Bullpup I had once, and it totally sucked. I suspect the FN is of much higher quality than the old bullpup trigger.

It's a bullpup. nuff' said.

I don't know what the M17 feels like, but the triggers on my FS2k and PS90 certainly take a little getting used to after having worked AR triggers (and even stock Ar triggers). In the end, they still suck but they are certainly usable.

The ammo that is cool for the 5.7 is not readily available, no longer sold as new to us lowly civilians, and is insanely expensive (as in thousands of dollars for a couple hundred rounds, $500 for 50 rounds).

I have AR pistols as well (9" and 10.5" barrels) and they are pretty much the same size as the PS90 (and it's got the 16" barrel) thanks to their stupid buffer tubes. In fact, my 9" AR pistol is the same exact size as the ps90. But it's the bullpup design which makes the PS90 incredibly maneuverable.

I'm far from an expert ... really a casual observer. But I think it has to do with lower velocity loads. The "good" stuff was higher velocity and could penetrate body armor. You know "cop killers". Hopefully someone with more experience/knowledge will chime in and either verify or debunk my response.
