Chrome lining is easier to clean and will add some rounds to overall barrel life.

It will also loosen up groups up about .5 moa more than a comparable chrome moly barrel.

If you want max accuracy don't go for chrome lining. If you just want to punch paper to 100 yards then it may be worth the extra $50.

But......you can also buy a new non-chromed barrel for about $150.........

I agree with Lycanwhoismoreoftenrightthanwrongthrope. If you clean your guns every time you shoot (like many of us) the chrome moly barrel will work just fine (and is a bit more accurate). The advantage of the chrome lined barrel and chamber is if you don't clean it as often as it should be or if it is being put away as a SHTF gun.

For target shooting I'd do stainless steel with a recessed crown.
