I have 3! A Hungarian M44, and Russian M38 and 91/30. All completely original with around 700 rounds stored up for them.

Mosin's are cool. Here is my 91/30 and M44 both with all matching # I also have a M39 Finn but cant seem to find any pic of it? Might have to break out the camera! I got lucky and bought a butt load of ammo right before the price went up.

You'll likely have to replace either the bolt or the bolt handle if you do. You won't be able to lift the bolt handle. The sniper versions all had bent bolt handles. See the movie "Enemy at the Gate."

I have 6, all Russians

1 M91/30, round receiver, all matching, dated 1938
2 M44s, all matching, 1945 & 1946 mint condition
3 M38s, 1 hardwood, matching, M44 stock. 1 laminated, matching M44 stock.
1 hardwood, force matched, original M38 stock

All great rifles, no wallhangers, lots of history and dirt cheap. Whats not to like!

Last time I counted I have over a dozen, and I've added a few since. Here are a few stock photos I've posted elsewhere:

Original 1944 91/30 sniper

One of the many laminated 91/30s

(top) Laminated M1944 carbine,
(bottom) M1938 carbine with M38 laminated stock

Snipin' the trash, Exton, taken
through a PU scope on the 91/30

Non-Mosin guy here; what's up with the Mosin fan-dom anyway?

Not a knock as it takes all kinds of gun-fans to make up the world, just as a non-Mosin guy, I'm curious as to what the attraction to these rifles are.

For me the history of the military surplus rifles is a big deal, these guns have been there and done that. The rifles are fun to shoot and surplus/commercial ammo is readily available. I started with one Swiss K31, then quickly added two more. As the prices rose on the K31s, I moved on to the more affordable Mosins. Like Karl said they're "still" cheap!.......and very addictive. Try' em you'll like 'em.
