I don’t know what about them draws me so, but I’ve caught the surplus/military bug for sure! Had a M44 loud and accurate, but alas traded for a Chinese SKS. Then longed for the mosin and got this one. Ghogs beware! And if I cant shoot them I sure as hell can bayonet them! P.S.: what would be the easy/cheapest way to scope it? Thinking on a center mount on the hex receiver with the bent bolt. Any thoughts?

i took the rare sight leaf out and put a scope mount there. seems pretty easy to me, but you might need a LER scope instead of a standard 3" ER scope. since the scope will be in front of the reciever. but this way you don't really need to bent your bolt you can leave the bolt straight.

true but the bent bolt would give more leverage because of the longer handle and long er scopes dont work well for me.

go to http://www.combatstocks.com/Mosin_Na...olt_handle.cfm

they sell Mosin Scope mount and bent bolt combo. you have to do a little "do it yourself" with the bent bolt but all the parts are there.
