Default The NEW Ruger 10/22. Take Down or Take out to the Garbage?

Kind of "cool" if you ask me assuming the reliability goes unaffected.

The Benchmark for .22 Rifles – Experience the Tradition. The Ruger® 10/22® rifle is America’s favorite .22 LR rifle, with proven performance in a wide range of styles for every rimfire application. Ideally suited for informal target shooting, "plinking," small game hunting and action-shooting events, Ruger has sold millions of 10/22 rifles since their introduction in 1964. With its legendary action and renowned reliable rotary magazine, all 10/22 rifles are sleek, perfectly balanced, rugged and superbly accurate. With a variety of choices – from the standard 10/22 Carbine, to the tack-driving accuracy of the Target model, the 10/22 is still today’s most popular .22 rifle. It looks right, feels right, shoots right and continues to perform under heavy use - inspiring the most fanatical loyalty from its owners. With proven design, legendary reliability and the modern features demanded by today’s .22 LR shooters, these firearms are priced right to make keeping tradition affordable.

i like the fact it breaks down like an assasins rifle, not the screw nut and no forearm like the papoose. reliablity should not be a factor because it looks like the same reciever.

I dunno, I would want to hear more about it's durability before I made any sort of decision. I can see, depending on the interface, wear being an issue & slop developing after repeated assembly & disassembly. Neat idea, unsure of the reliability of the execution.

I've built a number of 10/22s. It doesn't look to be much different than what you'd do a basic barrel swap. (There are only two screws to move for a barrel/stock change.) My current 10/22 can put 10 shots into a dime at 50 yards so I see no reason this would be any more problematic.

.22s are so inherently accurate that I doubt this will change that much. The only problem is now I've got to spend more money to try out a new 10/22.

I have been thinking about getting a Ruger 10/22 for a while now and I have been looking at getting a Herny AR-7 for a B.O.B. lately. Well, I guess I know what I'm going to get now.

My thoughts too. As long as it is as reliable as the standard version, it would be a nice addition for camping, BOB, etc.
