Just picked up a Citadel M1 Carbine (.22)
So ever since I saw this thing previewed, I've had my eye on it:
Citadel M1 Carbine
I always thought the M1 Carbine was a cool little gun, but I had no desire to pick one up in .30 carbine. Basically nothing else is chambered in that and .22 is so much cheaper to shoot.
Here's a quick photo I took after I brought it home. I'm planning on putting some rounds through it this weekend, so I'll update once I have shot it a bit. Seems like this is going to be a fun little gun to shoot.

Looks sweet! Here is the main thread of several over on RFC discussing this badboi...

Hope someone comes out with a "correct looking" hi-cap for that "M2" look. Supposedly this puppy will accept most M1 furniture... so I'm thinking it ought to do well with a para-stock.
I'm with you on the centerfire M1; love to have one, but sold mine as it is not the cheapest plinker on the block....

Post up the range report... chop, chop.
I 2nd the notion on .30 ammo prices. I love my m1 carbine but ammo is killing me.

Very nice, where did you find it? Someplace here in NEPA?
Re: Just picked up a Citadel M1 Carbine (.22)
Sweet! I have one on order with my LGS. Can't wait...

I second the range report. A sweet rifle you got there.

I have the auto ordnance M1carbine in 30 carbine and i dont know why every one says ammo is so expensive.Cabelas sells it for as little as $15 per box and that is for 50 rounds making it just a dollar or2 cheaper than what 5.56NATO is.I am considering a citadel 22 since i love 22s and i have a citadel 1911 that shoots great.

I was thinking the same thing with the para-stock. Would definitely be a cool project.

I actually picked this up at Trop's gun shop in Elizabethtown. I work in Harrisburg area during the week and they were one of the few places I checked that had any in stock. They apparently only got two in this week. Decent price too.

I had looked at the Auto-Ordinance first, actually. Most reviews I read were decent, although apparently there is a break-in period... I seriously considered one though. The biggest thing for me is so few other guns actually are chambered in 30 carbine.
Range report to follow. Looking to take this out on Saturday. More photos to come too!

Nice. First I've seen those.
It may not be tacticool, but it is cool.
I'd like to have one someday.
Re: Just picked up a Citadel M1 Carbine (.22)
How is it operated? Is it a blowback like on the 10/22 or is it actually like an M1 carbine and uses piston/oprod system? Im assuming its blowback because its just a 22...
Gun looks very nice though!!
