Need some info on a NHM-91

Alright guys, I need some help on this one since I'm not as familiar with the Norinco guns.

its a NHM-91 (which is the RPK one right?), original wood is off it and has been replaced with plastic forearms and a plastic skeleton thumbhole stock. All the plastic was done up in battleship gray and has since had a weird leafy camo pattern airbrushed on it. Finish on the gun looks to be ok, bipod is intact. Didn't get a chance to look at the internals since they were busy in the store.

Guy was claiming it was a $700 rifle, I personally didn't think it could pull that especially without the original wood. I'm asking you guys if you have any experience in the round about cost for these.

You were right. I *might* consider it for $100-$150 less if it had real Soviet laminated RPK wood on it.

Rather than forward my opinion of this "deal", have a look at what buyers are paying for NHM-91s on gunbroker. Here's a random selection of completed auctions that actually got bids:

Looks like the list from Gunjoker shows that only one of these actually sold - for $399.00.

It was the last one; the Chicom AK with Romy PG foregrip and Hungarian AMD brake. And Tapco PG.

I can understand why they didn't sell; they want pre-ban bux for an AK in the butt-hole stocked ban category - when you can just as easily spend the same - or less - and get a 922'd full-Evil AK.
