Cool .22LR rifles

I dont see much action here about the .22LR rifles,
I personally own a few high power rifles, and enjoy the garand or the m1 carbine at the range,
But I also look forward to the days when I can hang out with a couple of friends on the 50/75 or 100 yard range with a small collection of .22LR rifles, I have one from Egypt that was made in the 50s, scoped, and we pick off shot shells at 75 yards,
An old 50s mossberg open sights that groups at 4" at 100 yards,
Is there anyone out there that enjoys a day of plinking with a good old fashioned .22 rifle??????????
I have tried the ruger 10/22, But I still like the bolt or lever .22s.
Besides, at the end of the day, over 1000 rounds down range, we all still have our hearing, our wallets are still full, and none of us are sore,
A day with the 303 leaves me weary...
It seems the older I get, the more I enjoy a day at the range with some good friends leaving the high powers at home.
Peter. Just my two pennies.

Default Re: .22LR rifles

ill have to say that some of my best shooting days are spent sitting around shooting cans, apples, watermellons, etc with my 10/22 or savage bolt...
ive sat around for hours with friends and a few boxes of federal .22 and had a ball all day just talking and shooting... all day fun for practically nothing these days...
i cant see ever getting rid of either or my 3 .22 handguns... in fact, been thinking of getting another... maybe like a g22 or something different...
who knows, i mean with the cost of ammo anymore... hell, we might all be shooting just .22s soon enough!

The best part about owning .22lr rifles or pistols is you can shoot all day without hurting the wallet.

I enjoy shooting my 22's more than anything else..... In fact we have a "Plinkfest" at our cabin every year. It's a whole lotta fun and as it has been said... Nobody goes home with a sore shoulder or an empty wallet, even after 200 rounds.

Since "seeing the light" about 9 months ago 99% of what I shoot is 22lr.

I got myself a Marlin Model 39a - a nice lever action rifle. And I enjoy shooting it all too much!

I'm just sad that my range only allows paper shooting - no reactive targets for true 'plinking' fun.

I have a lever action Winchester 9422 with a 4X scope on it. Absolute a blast to shoot. And as others have said it is a cheap day at the range when I have that gun with me.

I have a Remington Viper and it is nice, but I'm really wanting a Tapco 10/22 in a bad way! (6 position stock & rails!)

This most fun I've had shooting is with this rifle. You can shoot it all day long for $20.

I enjoy shooting the 10/22 more than my friend's .308.

I love taking my Remington Nylon 66 to the range to waste some 22 ammo.
