Norinco has a booth at SHOT. I saw a thread on THR discussing Norinco USA. What can I say...I think the Chinese are masters of the clone game. Ever see their Sig clones?

I saw that THR post too, but the website looks a little odd
www.norinco-usa.com

plus none of the parts can come from china, unless they are being used for sporting shotguns, so they would have to be made in the US or another country and assembled here. If I understand the import ban correctly.

yeah won't that defeat the purpose if it's US made? but i wouldn't complain if they still sell the M14s at $399.00

Maybe the import ban expires in 2009? Or maybe they are setting up shop here to make "US made" rifles; swapping out a few foreign parts with US parts to make them 922r compliant.

I'd definitely be interested in a $400 M14.

They also make a CZ copy that has a safety AND decocker.

I don't know about this made in China thing/ban. NEF is importing shotguns that are stamped on the receiver "Made in China".
As far as the Norinco M1A/M14 clone. I have shot them and can attest to their value. In my opinion as well as many other competive shooters they are pure junk.
Save your money for a quality firearm. No sense in buying twice.

Theres alot of guns being imported from China, just that they are "sporting" type weapons. Stuff classified as nonsporting isn't allow to be brought in.

I think the ban only applies to things with rifled barrels.
weird I know.

anyway they'll probably be importing parts from another country, and assembling them here with enough US made parts to be 922r compliant. That's basically what Arsenal and a few other AK manufacturers do. It makes me wonder how cheap they'll actually be though.

it's also possible that the website is a fake and there is no Norinco-USA.
basically I'm not getting my hopes up.
