Need an appraisal of SKS if anyone can help a girl out

Hi y'all...I was wondering if anyone knew enough about Russian SKS rifles to give me a little info and a ballpark of what its worth...its all original with a removable cleaning kit in stock and removable bayonet...all parts are stamped with the serial number and the dates on top of the stock...no problems, gets fired occasionally so I know its in good order....thanks folks!

I've seen Russian SKS's go for $150 to $350 in the last year or so. The Chinese and Eastern European SKS's fetch slightly less than the Russian. The longer you hold onto it, and keep it in good condition - the more it'll be worth. If you are trying to value it for insurance coverage - I'd list it as $300 to $400 to cover replacement and costs of taxes, transfer fees, etc.

There were tons of them made. Was a time that you could buy an SKS for less than $50 that was still in the cosmo. The import ban on nonsporting semi-auto's and Russian/Chinese guns has slowly made the prices of SKS's and AK's go up.

You can compare yours versus some of the ones listed in the link below to get a better idea on the value. As to all things, they are as valuable as people are willing to pay.

do you know who the importer was? is the SKS factory refinished and have the lamenated stock. does the stock have a couple xxx's next to the serial number and are the serial numbers appear to be electro-pencil? i had a mint russian SKS imported by KBI with the box that i sold a few years ago for 300. russian sks's bring more money than the CHICOM sks's. if you're looking at selling it i'd ask no less than 300 if it does't have the xxx marks on the stock and no electro-pencil serial number it may be worth a bit more. try asking this question over at www.ak-47.net, there's a lot of knowledgable sks guru's on that webpage.

I just bought one 2 weeks ago for $125 with a case and about 50 stripper clips and 60 rounds of ammo. Circa 1951.

Real nice shape. Should have bought the other one too.
