Default New Yugo Underfolder, massive problems.

Picked up a Yugo Underfolder from Surplus City last week and it's been nothing but problems. I haven't been able to fire more that a few shots without the bolt seizing rearward (seizing so bad I have to take a 2x4 to close it). I open it up and something is wearing on on the lower rails causing huge burrs. It looks like one of the lugs on the bolt might be getting out of alignment during the firing cycle as well (perhaps this is causing the burrs.) Any ideas? I'm wondering if this thing is so out of spec it will need to be returned to Century. Here are pics:

Despite the bad rep with Century they generally will swap out rifles with good will. I had an issue with a PSL and they replaced it out with almost no questions asked.

Don't compromise, why keep a lemon? Call them up- they should provide you a shipping label to send it back on their dime.

Man that sucks. Just bought a CAI akms polish underfolder and couldnt be happier with it. Cant really see the burrs to well in pic but i would def call them up. Nothing should prevent an ak from firing.

I just hope that if the whole thing needs replaced they are able to replace it with another Yugo. From what I understand the parts kits to make these has nearly dried up or already has.

I have a WASR-10 as well and the thing never skips a beat. While I was screwing around with this Yugo POS at the range my buddy put over 100 flawless rounds through my WASR.

take it back to surplus city and see what they will do for you, if they can't help call century and i can assure you they will take it back and fix it or swap it out for another rifle. centruy guns are hit or miss but they do stand behind their guns.

Problem with that is I am now over 3 hours away from Surplus City as I have moved back from school to central PA. Gonna call Century tomorrow on my lunch break.

It doesn't look like your bolt is camming like it should. Does your rifle have the bullet guide installed?

here is a picture of a bullet guide:

here is where it should be:

here is a rifle without one:

the bullet guide starts the bolt turning when the breach unlocks.

Yep, it appears to have the bullet guide.

Hmm... that's a head scratcher. It's also possible that the lower rails are welded in the wrong place, but from what I can see in your pictures they look pretty good.

It's harder to diagnose without actually holding the rifle in hand and working the action.

I guess your best bet is probably to send the rifle back to century. I just hope they don't send you back some slab side abomination. I have also heard that the Yugo supplies were dwindling down.

EDIT: I would tell you to keep us updated, but from what I've heard it isn't likely that Century will actually tell you what was wrong when they return/exchange your rifle.
