Default Cugir wasr 10/63 AK

I am meeting a guy tomorrow to look at his wasr 10/63. it has a 1985 manf. date. The gun according to the owner has no canting issues and is in very good condition. has nice blond wood stock set. The price is $320, comes with 2 mags. Do you AK guys think this is a good deal?

I copied this from wickpedia. GP WASR-10/63 (Pistol Mitradel 63)
These are Romanian military spec AKM clones. They are currently used by Romanian Special Forces. They are currently being made, and because they are mil-spec, they are of higher quality compared to normal WASR rifles. The 2007 GP WASR-10/63 also has an updated front trunnion with added contact support for the bolt carrier.

This is the add. "I have an immaculate Romanian/Cugir WASR 10/63 with perfect blond furniture, threaded muzzle, side scope rail, and polished carrier that includes a green canvas sling, 2 mags, and no canted parts for $350 shipped or FTF in N. GA...... $340 FTF. MFG by Cugir in 1985, (85 stamped on trunnion) ...meaning it has a threaded bbl, and bayonet lug, stuff that was regulated in the AWB"

That is about the going rate. So it's not a good deal, as you can go to your gun shop and probably find one for the same price.

Dumham's is havign a sale tomorrow and they have double stack WASR 10s for $279. I think they're all Century Arms though, which I hear is one of the lower end models.

They also have single stack WASR10s for $199 i think.

Not everything wikipedia says is correct you know. It may be a clone of a rifle used by Romy military, but it's still a WASR, which was made for commercial export only, many times they had to be converted to even accept high cap mags.

The SAR series are closer to an actual military spec rifle than a WASR, get one of those if you could. They are no longer being imported as well, so there is some collectibility with them, whereas WASRs in all forms are all over the place.

But if you like it when you see it, just keep in mind that that is around the going price for a new one, aside from overzealous Gunbroker sellers who overprice everything.

That site will give you more info on commercially available Romanian AK type rifles.
And I'm sure someone with more fine tuned knowledge will chime in as well.
