I OWN one and love it!! NO FTF or FTE at all since I've had it. It has a 1 in 7 twist so mine likes 62gr. and 69gr. bullets better than the 55gr. stuff but it shoots that OK as well. The main beef with the 556 is that they had some early quality control issues that have since been remedied. A lot of Sig groupies are upset because it is not a direct copy of the Sig 550 series of rifles. No big deal to me, just buy one and enjoy!!!

Thanks for the compliment. The AK is actually a Romanian WASR 10. Not the best quality AK around but it never fails me at the range.

I'll probably get a AK aswell, but I always hear so many conflicting stories on which ones to get. I do know to stay away from the stamped versions of the weapon.

It feels, cheap.

My brother picked up a new version (I should have bought, found a great deal on it over at ar15) and he says that's it's the smoothest shooting gun. I have no doubt, as the action is extraordinarily smooth.

BUT, if you get to play with one, there are just some terrible design features with the 556 and oddly cheap parts used. My advice: Check out the XCR before buying a 556.

Your opinion is of course your opinion but what are you basing it on?
